Giorgio Biscaro Studio: Faustina

FAUSTINA (2010)
Faustina is a clothespin obtained by cuttin heat-pressed washing washing-soap bottles. Recycling process creates polyethylene sheets that are cut with a punch. Faustina occupies 1/4 the volume of a traditional peg, but unlike the latter it does not contain any metal part, such as springs etc. Moreover I think it's an ironical way to close the cycle starting with washing and ending with hanging.

recycled paper bins

Old plastic bins are recycled and get new again - holes are mended and plastic pieces are woven together with wicker, rattan and weed. Every bin is unique.

Blow Sofa

The sofa is made from 100% recycled paper dunnage bags with a metal rack and rubber straps. It is easy to transport when flat and simple to inflate. Each section can be personalized with pen and if the cushion gets dirty. It is inexpensive to replace.

USEDESIGN

FOLDSCHOOL

Mass culture is run by superficiality and ecological absurdity. Foldschool supports craftsmanship as a face-to-face approach to design and brings together product and user the closest possible.
The mindset of foldschool is to restore design to one of its original missions: to provide a product at an affordable price through a smart manufacturing process.
